The Social Club started when some adult women
tappers decided to take their love of tap dance to
the next level. Most of the women had been dancing
for years and taking advanced classes from Ellen
Keane and Cathy Keane Wind. In spite of schedules
that already included families, jobs and other
community commitments, they dedicated themselves to
developing a tap dance repertoire as a group. They
have not only done that, but had a lot of fun along
the way!
Audiences love the enthusiasm, maturity and joy
they bring to their dancing. These women dance for
the love of it and they know how to swing. One
common reaction when they perform is that women in
the audience who danced as kids are reminded of how
they loved tap in the past. Some even get new shoes
and go find an adult class. Now that's success!
